Quarterbacks (3) : Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Kyle McCord
Clearly, Jalen Hurts is QB1 and just won Super Bowl MVP. After him, Tanner McKee looks to hold down the QB2 spot. After sending Kenny Pickett to Cleveland & seeing what McKee can do from the end of last season, he has earned the QB2 spot. Then, we took Kyle McCord in the 6th round of this year's draft. It will be a camp battle between McCord & Dorian Thompson-Robinson, but I give the advantage to McCord with his age and contract control.
Running Backs (3) : Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley, AJ Dillon
Saquon Barkley just had one of the best running back seasons in recent memory. With Kenneth Gainwell heading to Pittsburgh, it opens up the RB2 spot for Will Shipley. They signed AJ Dillon in free agency, but he hasn’t been healthy for quite some time. He can be a nice power piece when he is healthy.
Fullback (1) : Ben VanSumeren
Jeffrey Lurie recently spoke about bringing back the Fullback position. VanSumeren officially changed his position to a fullback and has the versatility to do so. Also, rookie Defensive Tackle Ty Robinson out of Nebraska played 8 snaps at fullback & the team scored on 7 of those plays.
Wide Receivers (5) : AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, Ainias Smith, Johnny Wilson
AJ Brown & DeVonta Smith are one of, if not, the best duos in the entire NFL. There is a big drop off after those two, though. Dotson seems to be the WR3, but the Eagles have not picked up his 5th year option. Making him have to prove himself for a future contract. Ainias Smith was a bit banged up last season, so he couldn’t show out his full potential just yet. He could be a nice kick/punt return man when he is healthy. Big man Johnny Wilson gets the 5th spot, good blocker with the ability to play the slot as well.
Tight Ends (3) Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, Harrison Bryant
A lot of uncertainty with Dallas Goedert’s future, but as of now, he is still on the roster. He’s been a great & productive safety blanket for Jalen Hurts the last few years, & was dominant in last year's playoff run. Calcaterra has shown he can play & keep up whenever Dallas went down. Eagles sign Harrison Bryant in free agency and keep him on the roster behind Goedert & Grant.
Offensive Line (10) : Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jergens, Tyler Steen, Lane Johnson, Myles Hinton, Kenyon Green, Drew Kandall, Trevor Keegan, Kendall Lamm
One of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Even with losing Mekhi Becton, this offensive line is still considered one of the best in the league. Right guard is still up in the air, with Steen & Green most likely being the two competing for that job. All 3 draft picks make the roster to fill out the depth at this position.
Defensive Line (4) : Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Ty Robinson
Jalen Carter is on his way to becoming one of the best defensive lineman in the whole league, & he hasn’t even reached his full potential. The Eagles exercised Jordan Davis’ 5th year option, so he is currently here to stay. Ojomo has continually gotten better as he plays more in this defensive system. Robinson fills out the depth, with potential to become a future starter.
Edge Rushers (6): Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt, Bryce Huff, Azeez Ojulari, Josh Uche, Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr.
Nolan Smith & Jalyx Hunt both took big steps as the season went on. Huff’s contract makes it hard to get rid of him, but hopefully he can produce like his last season in New York. They signed Ojulari & Uche in free agency, two guys that have the tools to do well in a Fangio system. Antwaun makes the roster after having a very productive season at Virginia Tech.
Linebackers (5) : Zack Baun, Nakobe Dean, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Jihaad Campbell, Smael Mondon Jr.
Zach Baun is coming off an All-Pro year and just signed a 3 year deal. Nakobe Dean’s injury history is a bit of a concern, but is very productive when he is on the field. Jihaad Campbell will probably take that spot as Dean is hurt, with Trotter Jr. rotating in and Mondon Jr. adding depth.
Cornerbacks (6) : Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Kelee Ringo, Eli Ricks, Adoree Jackson, Mac McWilliams
Quinyon & Cooper proved that they are not afraid of the big leagues. Both players showed that they belong and can hang with the best of them. Kelee Ringo has a chance to step up after being a depth piece for the last few years. They signed veteran Adoree Jackson to add to some depth and a good leader to learn from for the young guys. Ricks & McWilliams are athletic depth pieces that will rotate in and out of special teams.
Safeties (4) : Reed Blankenship, Sydney Brown, Andrew Mukuba, Lewis Cine
With CGJG now gone, Reed and Sydney will be the starters, but Mukuba is going to compete for snaps early. Blankenship has proven to be reliable the last few seasons. Brown has batted some injuries but is very good when he's on the field. Lewis Cine was a very good player in college and looks to get a chance here in Philadelphia.
Special Teams (3) : Jake Elliot (K), Braden Mann (P), Avery Williams (KR/PR)
Jake Elliot & Braden Mann fill out the kicker and punter spots. Avery Williams was signed in free agency specifically to be a retuner, allowing guys like Will Shipley & Cooper DeJean to focus on their primary positions.
As always, things can change fast in the NFL—injuries, surprise performances, or late signings could shake up the depth chart before Week 1. But if this early roster holds, the Eagles are looking deep, balanced, and primed for another title run. With a mix of proven stars, ascending young talent, and smart roster construction, Philly fans have every reason to believe the Birds are built to fly high again in 2025.
